Celebrating Knut Hamsun’s 150th anniversary, NFD offered two lectures about the famous writer:
on 20th of October - Viktors Freiberg’s lecture Hamsun and Film: Cinematic Qualities of Literary Text in cooperation with Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia;
on 21th of October - Jan Erik Holst’s (Nordic Film Foundation) lecture Hamsun on the screen.
Commemorating Knut Hamsun, there were also 2 special free entrance screenings:
Knut Hamsun’s Caucasian Mysteries;
The Growth of the Soil (based upon Knut Hamsun’s novel The Growth of the Soil which won him the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1920.)
