Lars von Trier’s Antichrist in the NFD

The 10th Riga Nordic Film Days offer Danish director’s Lars von Trier film Antichrist premiere in Latvia.
Film had its world premier during the last edition of Festival de Cannes, where it gained a dimension of  scandal due to both – the plot and ambitious announcements of the director.

Antichrist tells about a couple, which after losing their son, seek for balance of soul in their country property. Though the initial plan was to overcome the loss, it turns into a real relationship nightmare.

The role brought Festival de Cannes best actress award to Charlotte Gainsbourg, while Lars von Trier reanimated his fame of brawler, declaring himself the world’s best director in a press conference.

Film’s premier in Latvia will be held on 17th of October at 10pm in cinema K.Suns. It will be screened repeatedly on 20th October at 8pm. Entrance fee: 2.60 Ls. For students, pensioners, Čili Picas Friend card owners and those who buy 5 or more tickets: 1.90 Ls

A lecture of Kinoskola “The Saint Monster Lars von Trier” will be organized before the films premier on 17th of October at 16:00 in Spīķeri, Maskavas street 12/1. The lecture will be given by film critics Normunds Naumanis and Dita Rietuma. Free admission.
