Kirill Serebrennikov (1969)

Born in Rostov-on-the-Don, in Russia, Kirill Serebrennikov studied physics at university. During his student years, he staged a number of plays, and developed a passion for the theatre. Since 1998 lives in Moscow and is one of the major Russian theatre directors. His third feature film Playing the Victim (2006) won the Grand Prix at the Rome Film Feast. Yuri’s Day has received various awards at many festivals in his homeland and abroad.
