Three visionary films about Tokyo from three directors – Bong Joon-Ho (Memories of Murder, The Host), Leos Carax (Les Amants du Pont-Neuf, Mauvais sang) and Michel Gondry (The Science of Sleep, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind). All shot in Tokyo, and each inspired by Tokyo.
Interior Design by Michel Gondry: a surreal fable of a young couple who move to Tokyo in search of a future. While the boy’s ambition is clear – be a filmmaker- the girl drifts, gradually losing control over her life.
Merde by Leos Carax: a mysterious man spreads confusion on the streets of Tokyo through a succession of irrational and provocative acts. The city’s population becomes obsessed by this strange phenomenon.
Shaking Tokyo by Bong Joon-Ho: he is one of Japan’s many hikikomori – citizens who have withdrawn from all contact with the outside world. When a pizza delivery girl faints in his apartment during an earthquake, the unthinkable happens – the man falls in love.
