The 8th International Children’s Film festival Berimor’s Cinema has concluded

The festival’s main prize „Berimor’s Big Pillow” was given to Latvian director’s Armands Zvirbulis film „Mazie Laupītāji”. The winner of audience prize „Berimor’s Small Pillow” is Finnish director’s Kaisa Rastimo film „Stormheart”.

Festival’s competition programme consisted of 8 films which were evaluated by a special jury of 9 children. During the festival 19 children’s films were offered to the audience which marks a new high point of screened films.

Like in previous editions children from social institutions and care centers were welcome to special charity sessions which have already become a festival’s tradition.

Festival also offered a world premiere of  Maris Brinkmanis animated film “Dzīvais ūdens” and a Latvian premiere of Reinis Kalnaellis film “Kad āboli ripo”.

It is already the fifth year since a workshop of animation is being organized during the festival. Guided by Edmunds Jansons children created their own animated film which was screened during the festival’s closing ceremony.

Festival was held from 4th to 12th of April in cinema “Riga” and “Parex Plaza”.
